b5 a4 with Brown interior?

Hey guys,
My dad is looking at a b5 A4 this week. I noticed in the picture he showed me that it has a strange brown leather interior. The seller describes it as "ultra rare" but I've been hard for b5s for years and have never seen a colour interior like this. It looks like a baseball glove brown interior similar to what I have only seen in a TT. Is it a rare stock colour or a just a dye job? TIA!

its semi rare if you like it. i think it looks ok on a black car but thats where i draw the line.

It is probably the Terra Brown interior, which is affectionately known as "peanut butter."

my 1st a4 was maroon /hibiscus red with that interior. I got non stop compliments on that interior. It "IS" ultra rare. I would buy it just for that. You never see an interior like that ever.

Thanks for the quick reply guys! I just didn't want to drive 45 minutes for a brutal dye job some kid did. Been looking for a car for my dad for a while with no luck. Douchebags keep telling us these cars are in good/great shape, then we drive an hour to see them and they are actually in poor/fair shape. Just drove to Toronto for the day on saturday for a bunch of mangled Jags and high mileage overpriced BMWs. One Jag was super nice but the carfax said the odometer had been rolled back... pass.
Hopefully this A4 is in good shape.

im pretty sure the seats werent dyed they look pretty legit to me?

Hate to get your hopes up, but im sure something is wrong with that car. The fenders are from a 98 and under and so are the tail. and i dont know anyone that would switch the newer ones for those ones.... so either the year is wrong or it got into an accident.

Hate to get your hopes up, but im sure something is wrong with that car. The fenders are from a 98 and under and so are the tail. and i dont know anyone that would switch the newer ones for those ones.... so either the year is wrong or it got into an accident.

While your more than likely right, I'm only questioning that because the tails look smoked so he might have bought them because they're smoked and not even realized they're the older style. But your probably right and it's a 98 not a 99. If he got into an accident and someone hit him in a fashion that would mess up his tails (ie from behind), it would be the other persons fault and therefore insurance would pay for replacements, they would get him what he had before.

You guys are right, It does look like a 98. Maybe it was sold to him as a 99 not realizing it was a 98? I think that would make the most sense. The center console, rear badges, fenders and lights are all pre-facelift. I think It was just posted as the wrong year rather than an accident. Def a pimp interior though. Thanks for the input boys!

99 is pre-facelift. 99.5 and up is facelift

correct either way its a pre-facelift but the lil audi football under the side marker light was only 96 and 97 i believe... maybe the early 98's but i have a 98.5 and i dont have the football

That pic reminds me of how the rear seats make the perfect shelf for setting stuff on. Which is about all they're good for.

As a side note, please for the love of god don't spend $6,500 for a B5. I wouldn't spend that for one even a year n' some ago when they were worth more. I guess to this guy "Rare (ish) interior colour" equals "OMG everbodi wills want!"

6k is a bit much for that car. theres a bunch in mtl for less then that and newer.... Id keep looking.

The tricky part is I'm not willing to drive to Toronto anymore. I keep driving over there to find car described as great shape that are actually in poor/fair shape. On top of that I find alot of car that are red flagged for odometer tampering.
