So I just bought a new video camera and a helmet cam for my yamaha and was wonder what's a good program that I can get that will allow me to edit and make my own videos. I know they aren't gonna be the greats videos in the world but I figure it would be fun to showcase your talents (if you will) so tell me know what you guys are using and how programs is to work with. TIA

for an "on the cheap" solution you can use iMove that comes preloaded on any mac, for a more professional look and professional money you can go with final cut Pro for 999.99.

I'm a long time Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro user.
If you have the hardware, the money, and don't enjoy waiting an hour for a 20min segment render, go with Final Cut.

If you're a PC on a budget, there's tons of freeware and even Windows Movie Maker with the Media Encoder can get some stuff done. Sony Vegas Pro isn't too bad for under $200 last I checked.

There's also Final Cut Express, if you wanna cut some cost.

Hardware has a huge impact on the performance of video editing programs. Capture video to a computer with slow hard drives and you may find errors or a computer that is simply unable to capture anything. Perform something as simple as a dissolve between two scenes and you may find yourself watching an underpowered computer render the effect for hours.
