Going to buy this gem tuesday, 1999.5 a4 1.8t 5spd quattro just hit 100k black on black all options. i need some opinions, the guy im buying it off just did the timing belt and water pump. those are the two big problems i know of. as for mods theres really nothing, just an exhaust, intake, and a boost gauge. anything else i should look out for? is 6000 too much for this?

im coming over from the jeep side, here is my current driver.

    thanks for your input.

6000 is way too much. You can buy an 03 with less mileage for 7k

Yea it seems a bit high, 6,000. I just did a quick Craigs list look in your area and saw a 2001 S4 with 208,000 miles for 5250. Now I know that is a lot of miles so you would need some feedback from the S4 crowd. I also saw a 2000 A4 1.8 manual with 78,000 asking 6300 which means 6000, does not mention TB but was dealer serviced from day one. Looks like the one your looking at is from a small car dealer and they like to buy low and sell high. Who know who had there hands on that before, the 2000 sounds like the first or second owner.

Yeah man, 6k is way too much for that car. I got my 2001.5 a4 for 3k with 70k on a brand new motor and trans. All you have to do is be patient and the right one will come.
If i throw a dog a bone, i don't want to know if it tastes good or not. Keep that in mind when you do someone a favor.

$6k is too much. I just picked up a 99.5 1.8TQ 5 speed Avant (much more rare) with 103k and bunch of basic mods for $4k.
Right after the winter, you will see a lot more A4's come on the market so just wait for the right one.
