If I were to purchase it, what would be needed for me to make it fit a non wide bodied a4?

Some guy is selling one already molded. I never understood why someone would pay 1500 for a bumper not to take advantage of it being widebodied.

Because not everyone has 20k + to widebody their cars.....

But you have 1500 to spend on a bumper that you still have to mold, primer and paint just to fit your car instead of buying a 360$ bumper that fits already?

Like I said I don't understand, you can get a RS4 style bumper for a fifth of the cost. What is it about the OEM one that makes you want to spend the extra grand?

yes but it will look pretty much identical once painted, and you could buy 4 of them for the same price so if one breaks or cracks, you still have money to spare

Some people invest a high dollar amount in quality, fitment, and safety....me being one of those people.
No aftermarket RS4 bumper looks "pretty much identical" to the OEM counterpart. They all have dead giveaways when it comes to looks, let alone quality.

+1 . I recently cracked my oem s4 bumper in half and had a couple of options for a new bumper, but when it came down to it, I still went with a new oem s4. yes, it may cost more but quality and fitment of the oem cannot be matched. I will be doing the rs4 mod w/ oem rs4 mesh on this one though.

That I understood. And I tottally understand someone who will buy an RS4 OEM bumper for widebody purposes. But he is gonna buy the OEM bumper and then modify it to fit a non-widebody car, so as good as the fitment and quality MIGHT have been it no longer is an issue. I figure if you are gonna modify the bumper anyways, no point in investing all this money towards a good fitting part that won't fit your desired project....but that's just me.

Well...yes and no. Yes he will have to mod it a bit to fit. But the modifications are quite minimal and only effect the very outer sides. The general fit and finish of the bumper is largely uneffected by the need to modify it. There is no right or wrong way to go about choosing a bumper....just taste and preference. I've had aftermarket bumpers on my A4......never again. Plus....this just looks soooo sexy:

There are a couple of replica RS4 bumpers that look great and dont need to be molded for the non widebody cars.
You have this one the Dietrich RS4 bumper from tmtuning. http://www.tmtuning.com/HOME/catalog...lt_product=122

You also have this one from Sedil tuning. http://www.estrictlyforeign.com/SEID...2000055025.htm

I think that heating and molding a real RS4 bumper is a waste especially with some good Replicas out there. Honestly fiberglass bumpers have come along way in the last ten years. They are not as crappy as they used to be.

This in my opinion is the absolute definition of sex! Cash willing I would put everything OEM, or even better carbon fiber RS4! I plan on modding an OEM S4 bumper as soon as I can get my hands on one just because I like fitment.

^^Yea, but that RS4 has had it's fenders fulled and bumper molded to accommodate them... fitment is far from perfect as well

    So. Back on topic.
We have concluded the following: It will require a heat gun to mold the sides towards the fenders. As far as cutting - none will be needed.
    Correct?

Not really. You will also need to make some pie cuts in the bumper where it meets the fender. This will facilitate the contraction from widebody to narrowbody. Another thing to lookout for is bowing of the very bottom of the bumper. Easily counteracted by a length of metal and some rivets (to hold everything strait).

I have an rs4 replica bumper and it's not too bad for the price. Definitely not oem, but I agree why the hell pay all the extra money for that to make if fit a narrow body? Eventually if I keep this a4 I will get an oem rs4 bumper but at that point I will be going wide body with it anyways. To each his own, I should just save my money and buy a Porsche.

Because it is OEM and not a rep. Looks 1000X better. I am saving up for a oem bumper right now and selling my RS4 Rep.

Heat molding is not that difficult. Just be sure to do it enough where the bottom half of the bumper wont get bowed.

I know this is an old thread, but I just found it and when I saw that picture my jaw dropped. I really want to know who makes that hood; what a sharp looking car.
