Pulled the car out of winter storage today, gave it an oil change and took it for a bit of a spin.

    I still like it.

yep, the roads are in decent shape, although judging from the short drive and the dirt acquired by a (previously) clean car, there is still a decent amount of sand out there.

Aaaah the signs of spring.........receding snow, robins in the lawn, song birds fill the air and an S5 ripping down the road...............................mine has been out all winter and there are signs of the toll winter has taken.

HA...Its an Audi...puts some snows on it and pretend its a snowsled....I grew up in ME, so I know the winters suck up there, but some of the most fun I've had in the vehicle have been on small roads in the middle of a blizzard!!!

rs4-380 and myself both have other 4wd cars we drive in the winter... we just like keeping our A5 (me) S5 (him) from getting sandblasted on the roads.

I love that you are keeping it from getting sandblasted. My car got beat up living in the mountains. But i couldn't imaging not driving my Audi everyday. Love it

I know the car is more then capable with the correct tires in winter situations, but it's a personal choice. The additional worry is not worth the joy of driving the car (that is already reduced because of the weather/road condition) and frankly, I've been storing cars and driving something else (AWD or not) in the winter for a long time now. Call it a beater call it a sacrificial lamb I like the variety and I like having cars that don't have to be good at everything, instead being specialized in one way or another.

What is this winter you speak of? Snow? Sand? All sounds a bit bizarre! :)

P.S. it was freaking 102 degrees in Beverly Hills yesterday, I wish we could have a little winter to cool things off, but hey at least it's skimpy-outfit season all year round
