    Try this again-Spacer Question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
What size spacers would be optimal for 19x8.5 wheels with a 42 offset? Tirest are 245/35/19. Also, who makes the best ones for the money?
    Thanks Jeff

    Are you lowered?

Most people would aim for offset of 35 with 235s on a 8.5 inch rim...that makes it pretty close to rubbing, but still clears. So I'd say anywhere from 3-5mm in the back, maybe slightly less in the front. This all depends on how low you are.

I would say sometimes spacers look odd if you're not lowered.

Your new set up will still be sticking out 9mm further than stock (Stock 18x8 avus wheels that is...not exactly sure what you're actually running right now.)

Could go 7 safely on front and rear.
rear could go up to 10 (guessing now). 8.5 with a /245/ tire and ET 35 is perfectly flush up front, and tucked a tiny in the rear, hence the +3 mm guess I'm giving you

    i'd say 7/10

    Right here.

Apikol makes 5mm spacers for these cars.

Not to change your topic too much, but there are a lot of wheels out there with 33-35 offset that don't req any spacers. I personally avoid spacers for wear and performance reasons; if you haven't already purchased wheels..it's something to consider........IMO

I have 19x8.5 up front. And 19x9.5 in the rear. Both are ET41. I use 5mm spacers all the way around. No rubbing issues. Had to use spacers to work around the brakes. Just to give you an idea...

7mm front and 10mm in rear for edge of fender fitment. You could go up to 5mm and retain your stock lugs if you wanted to play in safe.

Once you settle in on your spacer size, ALWAYS go with Hubcentric Spacers for a vibration free riding and foolproof installation.
Don't forget to get longer wheel bolts to match your spacer width.

I just put 20mm spacers on the rear and 12mm's up front with stock rims, and everything looks perfect and flush. I've had a few rubbing issues in the rear and have progressively had to raise my rears up, but I have an alignment tomorrow so today was the last day I could do that. Currently the fronts are at about 25" wheel to fender and the rears are a bit over 25 1/4" Hopefully the rubbing will be gone on anything but the biggest bumps w/ 4 people in the car.

20MM up front would be too bold I'd think.

And get lugs that are however large the spacer is larger than your stock bolts.

That's probably wise...Like mentioned above, without suspension there's no need to go too extreme, because it can start to look odd.

Your ET 42 with 245R19 tire won't rub. Car will work fine up to ET 45 with 245 tire including having clearance to the control arms for the time being.

In hindsight I'd get 15 mm spacers for the fronts. 12 aren't doing it for me cause of the negative camber pushing the tops of the wheels inwards...

I'm at a similar ride height and you are right about the 20mm spacer up front... that would put it 1mm inboard of where mine sit (9.5 +33) and I had to pull my fenders, and since yours are 8.5's w/ spacers it doesn't make a lot of sense to run a spacer that requires a pull.

So whats the call with stockers and HR springs? 15 front 20 rear? I really dont want any potential rubbing issues. I frequently have 2 kids and the wife in the car. Not that the will weigh a ton... also the roads in PA are not fun, so dont want to cause any issues etc.. .

    So maybe 12 and 15?
