Looking for advice... H&R or Vogtlands?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I know suspension is very subjective. Just looking for a little help. Sorry to bog the forum but the search function is junk

Right now H&R and vogtland coils are about the exact same in price(about $1200). Which is better as far as comfort, handling, going low, etc. for a B6S4 ? I know all those don't go well
together but you get the idea..

    Any help would be great...

talked to a guy at Achtuning the other day as I was having the same dilemma. He said the Vogtlands they are JUST finding out are not made well for the S4's and suggested H&R. I just got my H&R's on and love them. Call Achtuning for more info they'll be happy to help you out!

How do the H&R's ride/handle? Mine dropped off by FedEx man. They're getting installed on Monday.

Also do you have the stock sway bars?

H&R's handle amazing! Especially since the car (which means stock shocks/springs) had 66k on the clock, its like a brand new suspension! So much confidence and planting through corners/lane changes, etc.

I have the RS4 sway and after putting the H&Rs on its WAYYYY more noticeable. A$$ is way more planted now

Glad someone posted the name Achtuning. They actually have the H&R for $50 less + free shipping from what I had found before. Anyone know of anyplace else that has them cheaper before I order?

I also did not see Konis listed for the S.

i've had the h&r's for about 66,000 miles and 20+ track days, i like em (i ran h-sport sways f+r for awhile, too much understeer....just have the rear on now and it feels nice, but i havent had the time to track the car with just the rear yet, thats next wknd

stiffer than stock, definetly, but ok for daily driving (assuming your roads arent complete crap)

Not going to happen....Don't get me wrong I love Audi and have been driving them for 18 years now but the M3's, no matter what the vintage, is going to out handle our nose heavy pigs.

Really achtuning would be the place to ask this, I am not a suspension expert....BUT the guy from achtuning told me it had something to do with the bumpstop on the vogtlands and that plain and simple they just weren't build for the S's that vogtland just slapped the title on there saying they were for the S.

    Maybe too much bounce?

I will say I've had one complaint on the H&Rs (not by me) - my gf commented last night that she can feel every single bump and that it hurts her boobs. LOL I think this would happen with any coilover kit though - I don't think it rides to stiff, but w/e

LOL I was hoping it did. I'm sure it will be better than what it is now though.

This post got me thinking. I got a set of H&R springs last year, but no coilovers. So, I've been running the new springs on the OEM shocks. Saw a huge improvement in handling...But should I be looking to add the coilovers?

My S4 came with Vogtlands from the previous owner. I love them for a street car. Perfect balance of ride and handling for a daily.
