Are you guys using the real ross-tech cable to log or using the hacked ebay cables? I need to buy a vag-com and don't know which one to get since theres a huge price difference..I need to log my car

In my experience, the ebay cable would never log for me. A few times it tried to (normally I just got rejected outright), but no information came up. The real deal is the way to go (http://www.europaparts.com/vag-com-d...ross-tech.html)

Give me a call at 916-705-0897 and I will provide tech support on installing the Ebay cable for you.

If all you want to do is log for the GTRS you got from us, it will be more than sufficient. If you are interested in doping advanced diagnostics and repairs, the genuine Ross-Tech is the only way to go.

I got the clone cable and freeware - I was able to Vag the remote open windows, but no driving lights on by themself. I registered the freeware for $99 and was able to do the light mod, but no OBDII - need to upgrade ($249). This requires a Ross Tech cable- so I would start with the genuine Ross Tech system

    Here's a writeup: Click Click

Read through it carefully because there's a few details that make a big difference. But like Greg said, it should work fine.
