Hey guys I'm about to install the awe28r but was thnkn it might be best to go with a different frame turbo and just buy the turbo itself new and usE all of awe hardware for the rest of the build? I'm leaving it stock mani... Or I might jump into that tubelar manifold from a couple threads bellow.
Sorry if this seems stupid or tell me it's impossible to achieve something like this? I want just a litttle more power

Specs on car awe hfc,tt2.5 dp, magnaflow 16001, southbend st 3. Suspension.
    Thanks!!!

WHAT?! im sorry but that doesnt seem to make sense to me. the only turbos that bolt up to the stock manifold are the ko3,ko4, and eliminator turbos.

Ahem, the F4h-l also bolts up to stock mani!! :)

I'm pretty sure the awe kit comes with an adapter that allows the gt28r to bolt up to the stock mani.

From the info i know the 28r utilizes stock mani, but alot of people on here r making me not want to use this kit ao I was wondering if I could salvage parts from this and just get a new turbo? Use the awe hardware? Or is this completely impossible....

so you have the AWE GT28R turbo kit but dont want to run it on your car??? Cause everyone on here is telling you no to run it. I'm confused?

if lookin for just a turbo to run why not look at CTS TURBO!

Yes this is correct but my question still hasn't been answered.
Can I use injectors hardware lines etcc and get a differet framed turbo and get different tuning then giac

Using any other manifold other than the stock + adapter plate will require you to mock up a new tp/cat, and inlet pipe...in which your kit is basically no longer an "AWE" kit. I would stick with the stock manifold for it does flow enough to make good power...but if you really want a full frame turbo and manifold, my recommendation would be to just sell the entire kit as a "whole", and get another kit...it would be much cheaper.

What many don't understand is that the OEM manifold can actually flow enough to support any 28-series turbine wheel (eliminator, or full frame GT28x). A manifold does not have to have large runners for it to flow better, but rather a constant velocity rate into the turbine housing. When I ran AWE's GT28R kit with a GT28RS, which uses a full T25 turbine (but with a 2-bolt 28R comp cover) housing on an adapter plate to mate onto the stock K03 manifold,

from another thread was this build not a goood drivability car? im interested into the 28rs swap and how u got it tuned... i think i could be satisfied with that kind of power

I was the "beta tester" of the AWE's 28R kit, and we slapped on a 28RS to enter EuroTuner GP back in 2005. The file I was running allowed fine tuning that allowed us to play with the timing and fuel maps (mated on with a S4 MAF and 580cc's). My setup was pretty much taboo from AWE after I threw a rod and destroyed the motor (car put down a solid 320whp on a big dynojet, with a stock manifold). This was a bit too much power for what AWE wanted--for they wanted a kit that simply made more power than a K04, but still able to use stock internals.

As a result, I simply sold the kit, and after rebuilding the motor, I just went to a GT30 instead.

jeff thts really cool you got to test out the kit! shitty the motor went by by... ive got a rocket so i think my sepeend addiction will b taken care of and what the awe kit will deliver for me ill be semi satisfied. if i can get the car to run under a 14 second 1/4 ill b a happy camper = )

and hey if my motor pops at sum point i will be joining the bat crew realll fast. i really wish i wasnt ignorant and i did invest into dougy fresh's motor when i could have.... instead i spent 7k and bought my bike.
