Question Just added a Curt Trailer Hitch to my 09 Q7...how do I hook up the lights?

    Guys,

I just installed a Curt trailer hitch on my Q7 but I have no idea what to do about lights. I need brake lights/indicators/driving lights connection. My trailer has a 4 connector plug. What is the easiest/cheapest way to do this? I read Uhaul may have something??

    Thanks in advance guys!

Bump...no one else has done this? The hitch looks awesome on the truck, very nice piece that bolts in place but I have no way to wire it up to my trailer. Please help.

    Thanks!

You need the control box from dealer. If you go and tap to taillights you will cause the bulb error as computer is monitoring the drawn current....

    Cool

Thanks for the reply. I was able to pull it off!!!!! Took me about 5 hours and a load of frustration but for under 25 bux I have fully functional trailer lights for brakes, indicators, and running lights. All I needed was a universal trailer light wiring kit that you can find at pep boys, autozone etc for about $12.00, a pair of relays about $6.00, and a pair of diodes for $2.00. Works 100% and I have been towing my 24' Twister Offshore to and from the ramp with NO issues at all :)
