    Car loan recommendations?

I'm looking to buy a used 2008 Audi S5 and was wondering what car loan places you recommended? I tried local credit unions and they weren't really that helpful.

    Any recommendations?

Too bad you don't live here, I finance cars. That being said, I'd try your local State Farm office.

it's between 686 and 705. So not terrible. A credit union in Wisconsin gave me an interest rate of 8%. I was like no way. I'm not a member so does that make a difference?

6% interest plus loan processing fee. Doesn't sound too bad for a used-car loan.

At your credit score you're in B Credit territory. A Credit requires a score over 720. So that's part of the issue, also the longer the term of the loan, the higher the rate.
Most credit unions require you to be a member with at least a $500 checking/savings balance for at least 6 months before they will loan you more than $25,000

Rates for B credit at my local credit union (Rainbow FCU):
    48 months 5.00% APR
    60 months 5.25% APR
    72 months 6.25% APR
    84 months 7.50% APR

Loans exceeding MSRP/NADA or extended terms must carry GAP Plus coverage

oh and anything newer than 5 years with less than 20,000 miles classifies as "new car loan"... anything older or higher mileage classifies as "personal loan"
