    Replacing Spider Hose Valve

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Anyone know if I can throw a generic valve on the spider hose? More specifically, the valve that comes right off the Y pipe? I spent a bunch of time crafting a custom spider hose and that valve just broke on me. I really don't want to replace the whole assembly. Thanks!

The Pressure Limiting Valve is what I'm referring to. Anyone know if I can use a check valve instead? Or anyone have one they want to sell?

A picture would be helpful. I bet many people on here have used busted up spider hose assemblies.

On the far right...the part that connects directly to the Y pipe.

I'll take it off your hands.

Think it would mess anything up if I just ran it with no valve in the meantime? Wouldn't it just suck all the crankcase vapors into the intake? I may be able to epoxy the broken one as well.

The valve is designed to limit vacuum in the crankcase. Do not connect to the Y-pipe vacuum source without this valve in place. For now, just cap the Y-pipe connection, and leave the valve port on the spider hose open to atmosphere.

The updated spider hose has a redesigned valve in it as does the updated oil filler cap with a pressure valve in it.

    We offer both.

Will this work on a 2000 manual trans? Good pricing on that compared to others that I've seen too.

I don't know what's happening with my car, but 3 things have shit the bed on me in the last week. Aux pump, spider hose, and oil leaks from the valve cover.

I was driving the car down to class and smelt oil and was like damn it, the valve covers are leak again. Then I park and go to class and jump back in to go home and a huge cloud pours out from under my hood and bumper and i freak out cause i think it the turbos dying again and i just replaced them. I get her home and see that I've lost almost all my coolant and that this has happened to my spider hose.

I have parked the car until i get the new spider hose and other parts in to fix her.

4:11 posi track out back, 750 double pumper, edelbrock intakes, bored over 30, 11 to 1 pop up pistons, turbo jet 390 horse power, where talking some fucking muscle!!

That spider hose is the biggest POS, last time I had it off the car I wanted to just stomp on it to make me feel better. You have to be soooo careful when dealing with it or it will break very easily. I'm in the process of fabbing up my own but integrating a catch can that utilizes the same Y-pipe port for vacuum to draw the fumes out of the crank/heads.

question on this, i bought the older style spider hose(mistake) but the original part was a newer style. The older one it has an extra hose.. i think, would it be ok if i installed it?

i have no idea where that long line goes.

The long one goes to the problematic F Hose on the front of the intake mani. You shouldn't run it like that.

I wish I could answer that. If it were me, I wouldn't do it but I'll let someone knowledgeable chime in. I did however make my own custom spider hose and it seems to be working out.

Yes, you can plug the F-hose line on the spider hose.

Kenan- The updated spider hose won't work on your car unless you've deleted your F-hose.

Fab one up yourself. That thing is the biggest POS in the entire world. It is probably already broken somewhere.

The long piece goes under the intake manifold towards the F pipe.

Out of curiosity, I have a 00 s4 tip but my spider hose was completely different.
Mine does not have the rubber line coming off the top of the center piece, instead it branches off of the hose that connects to the F hose.

And my F hose is inline with the brake master cylinder line, instead of up front next to the throttle body.

Is there a difference between 6sp/Tip layouts of similar year?
I read there is a different version, but why is mine different on a similar year as the OPs?

We got the earlier styles as well now.

    Early spider hose
    http://www.advancedautomotion.com/pr...9309b2fe000f35

The tips use the later assembly 078103235R and if you have a vehicle with VIN VIN #1 053 000 an earlier it takes 078103235B. I'm not too sure about replacing the valve by itself.

The oil cap also has been updated with a pressure relief valve built into it.

The TIP spider hose is different because it's also got lines coming off for the combi valves.
