    Looking for coilover advice

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys I am looking to purchase a suspension for my b6 but I am not sure how much and which setup rides smooth. I have a sports suspension on my car so the ride is stiff, I just don't anything too rough. I have been looking and I was quoted around $1200 for kw v1 is that a good price? and are there any shop in the gta ?
    Thanks for the advise

For the V1, that's not bad at all. A shop here in MTL wants close to $1400.

if you want a smooth ride I would avoid coil overs period. The ride is definitely more harsh.

$1200CAN for V1? I would jump on that price, unless they're gonna charge you $800+ for install

Seems all coilover pricing went up last year due to distributors not stocking in the US economy... ...supply and demand people!

Imho, Koni/STaSIS SteetSports will get you low and still remain drivable for street. Far more comfortable ride than OEM. Key is not to go below 25.25-25.5" in Toronto.

For something firmer consider the Vogtland, H&R and Eibach range. Also more $.

Bilstein PSS10 would be at the top of the 'firm' scale on Audi/VW (imho).

    Cheers

I'm super happy with my V1's... I would highly recommend them if you're looking for a sporty right that doesn't bust your kidneys :)

And ignore the comment about coilovers being harsh. Simply not true.

I'm also interested in lowering my car. My only issue is that I don't want a rough ride. I love how the stock suspension feels except for the fact that they are a tad high. Any advice would be appreciated. ('06 B7 A4)

this could not be far more from the truth...whether we're talking about my a4 sports suspension vs KW V3 or OEM M3 suspension vs PSS10...the ride quality has improved on both cases, but 1200 is a pretty good deal.. i wonder if you can still get into the KW group buy
    Cheers!

Its all relative I think, as the rolling diameter only changes marginally. ie. larger wheels, thinner tires.
