    Don't know for sure but at a minimum I would expect you need to modify the Module 17 Instrument Cluster, Adaptation Channel 62 to let the cluster know that the nav system has been installed.

    On my car (B6), it was like this:

    1. Select address 17 - instruments.

    2. Select adaptation - 10

    3. Select channel 62 and read it.

    4. Add 4 to the value read in 3 and test it. (my old value was 17, yours may be different)

    5. Save it.

    Edit: BTW, you need a licensed cable to do this...the ebay cable won't code it.

    I did it with an ebay cable and it works.

    STG 17 (Instrument cluster) -> Adaptation -> Function 10 -> Channel 62
    +01 - Radio
    +02 - Telefon
    +04 - Navigation
    +08 - Telematics
    +16 - Instrument Cluster
    To add navigation, add +4 to the current value.
