    GTRS or BT guys....

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Are any of you experiencing problems with your axle assemblies. I've replaced mine 5 times in the past 2 years. It se4ems to be only the driver side one going bad every 4 to 5 months. I'm starting to think that the stock ones im ordering can not handle the power of the GTRS torque. I know its not a lot but its all i can think of. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance guys.

i would guess something else is wrong, especially since its only your drivers side that is going bad.

Wowzers, 5 times? I've replaced my driver side once since being BT but I had 68k miles so I contributed it to the mileage not the BT.

Something sounds out of alignment. Are your motor mounts still in good shape? Trans mount?

I got a snub mount and the motor mounts were fine. The car only has 53,000 miles on it. Can't seem to figure out what would keep causing just the driver side axle assembly to keep going bad.

is your car lowered? generally lowered cars will see adverse axle angles. that along with the added torque of more power could cause issues.

thats nothing crazy. What happens when they are going "bad"? Is it split CV boots?

The boot was torn the first time, which i think was normal wear and tear. And every time after that i can feel the car shake and the car "clunks" when i turn left under load. If i just let the car idle around a corner it won't "clunk". The boot is not torn this time but anytime I accelerate the car starts to shake a little. As soon as i replace the axle assembly the car is fine for a few months then I start to hear the "clinking clunk" sound while turning around corners. I was hoping maybe someone else has experienced this problem.

Not recently. Do you think they might be going bad or already have gone bad? Next step is to have the suspension step looked at while at the shop.

possibly you are gasing it hard while making turns. a lot of this will cause the cv to flex and possibly cause issues in the future.

I don't really get on it while turning corners so I don't think that is the problem. Thanks for all your help guys. I'll post again when i find the answer out to the problem so maybe this can help someone in the future.
