test the battery? low voltage makes things act funny.
also try to find the drive cycles for each system, how long you driven since reset?

Get your car scanned and post up the codes...then we can tell you exactly what's up.

I dont think he was throwing codes, thats the issue. Nothings ready for the OBDII emission scan. We do the same emissions check here in Ma.

Did you have a CEL and fixed the issue which then trned off the CEL? If so then you need to run the car long enough to go through a tank of gas without errors before the computer will go to systems ready for testing. Been there, done that...so long as you actually fixed the problem, you just have to let the computer decide its all good and reset itself, you cannot just clear your codes and turn off the CEL right before you go for your sticker anymore.

You can always do a hard reset by disconnecting the battery...maybe that will do the trick.

Actually readiness can change based on conditions. Lets say you scan it in the morning, it will show u values, that can be different after you drive the car for a while

those two fail on my car too but in NH though you can have 2 of the 8 (i think it is 8) checks fail and still pass inspection that way (has for 3 years).
might want to look into what your local laws are before worrying to much and spending a bunch of cash you didn't need to.

The cat will also work better if it's really hot. i've heard people suggest doing some hard pulls before going to the inspection but in the case of the readiness checks i'm not sure that will help since they seem to be a "overall value" which takes some time to tip back to positive.

hope that helps, i dread inspection :( gotta do mine this month and need some new tires, blah.

did it today drove for like 3 hours straight drove it around 5k rpms at some points in 3rd and 4th cuz i never do, went to do inspection right after that i failed but i needed to do something to avoid tickets so they extended it for 10 days.. on my way back from the inspection out of frustration i launched it then got the cel with the code P1602
