    Tire Question

    Hey guys!

I got new tires for my 18" summer rims on Christmas of '08. They currently have about 1 and a half summers on them, and the tread is hardly down at all from what it was. Last fall one of them was severly damaged and needed a replacement. Not wanting to deal with it, i just put on my winter tires early. They no longer produce the same tire as my other 3.

My question is will my car drive different if i get the same brand of tire, different model and obviously same size, instead of buying 4 new ones? Is there any risk to this?

    thanks.

A place between here and there

The tire that was discontinued was more than likely replaced by a different (new) model. I would look into which model tire replaced it and go with that tire.
I hate it when my car acts like a little bitch, treating me like a bitch

I am in the same boat as you and was wondering this as well. If its not safe to do with just one tire, would it be ok to run two of the original tires on the back, and then buy two of the newer versions of the same tire and run them on the front? I realize that it is always recommended to run four matching tires, but if they are updated versions of the same tire, would it cause any drivetrain damage?

My car and I have a lot in common--we're both kind of old and slow, but still manage to look pretty fucking cool.
