? for those with rear o2's coded out

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
As the title states, for those of you who have had vast or epl tune out your rear o2 sensors, do you have problems passing inspection due to readiness? I had mine coded out, but the readiness still says "failed or incomplete" for the o2's and for catalysts. Anybody in PA especially? Is readiness in vcds the same as readiness at an inspection station?

    thanks,

    Chris

do you pass your readiness tests in vag com or do you mean that you passed when you took it in for inspection? I'm not sure that they are the same thing. Also, did you have to drive it the 50 or 60 miles that you typically would have to for them to pass? Vast and I have been working on this for a while now, and i need to get my car inspected asap. any info you have would be very helpful.

I checked my readiness via vagcom right before I took it in for inspection. didnt feel like throwing away 37 dollars if I was going to fail. you can either drive your car for a couple days or take the easy route and force your car to test the readiness thru vagcom. takes about 10 minutes and is kinda fun.

Passed just fine with EPL removing rear 02's. I believe you can fail 2 readiness but not 3 and still pass. Something like that.. been a while.

If you dont have a CEL you should pass period. If you have a CEL you will not pass.

Care to share how you do that by chance? I've only played around with Vagcom a bit, but didn't see a way to set readiness checks.

Mosty states allow only 2 readiness tests not to run. I used to live in CA and that is how it was there. Just make sure all run but two. You probably had more than the 02 readiness that hadn't ran. Some of the 02 coding out does not allow the 02s to complete the readiness, so just make sure the others run. VAG-com is your friend for this.

I passed after having EPL tune out the rear o2's. I don't know if other states are different but here in Colorado, they don't check for anything in the codes unless your CEL is on, and in that case you automatically fail. So as long as the CEL is off you'll pass.
