The other night i was starting from a stop on a hill in my manual 2.0T and when i tried shifting into second gear, it was like the shift knob went into second, but the car responded as if it was in 1st. I tried 3rd and then back to 2nd, but it still seemed like it was in 1st (RPMs were flying up when i gave it gas).
After this, I had the most ridiculous burning clutch smell ever. (people in the car behind me thought it was their car)
Now (24 hours later), i'm getting more burning clutch smell, just with normal driving.

Any idea what could have happened here? whether there's still a problem? what the fix might be?
