I drove out to see one of my old friends in Denver to do some mountain driving and thought I'd share a few pictures.

What every enthusiest should do: climb Pikes Peak...







The park rangers heard us coming up the hill... they proceeded to follow us back down. It's hard not to gun it, once I hit the gravel section I pooped a little out of sheer excitement. All those old videos of the Suzuki Escudo, Audi S1, Peugot 405 T16 just came fluttering into mind. Such a legendary drive.

Bumper problems, the result of dipping into "15 mph" uphill hairpins at 30 mph. Luckily my mechanic was on site.





That's all the good ones I've got for now. Tomorrow we're going straight into the mountains and I'll try to get some video. I'm also driving out to Oklahoma to visit some college buddies, one of who has a 2003 330ci fully built and turbocharged from Dinan... and his family owns a race track out there. So that should make for a good video as well.

looks like a lot of fun, in vt we have a few nice mountain roads that can be fun. you need some of those stealth bulbs for your clear corners :)

haha you like the roads eh? me too, thats why I take loveland pass at least one time a week when my buddies and I go up and ride! love the pics though I never get around to taking any

Nice pics! My office faces Pikes Peak. It's hard to get work done when I can look at the window and see Pikes Peak all day long.

Thanks for the comments guys. It has been amazing so far; in fact I'm staying out here another week and ordering a bunch of parts (sway bars, diff mount, and a few other things) to put on and we're going back up ater this week. I hope to make a camera mount as well and get some in car video.

Shenanigans: I'm visiting my friend in Tulsa, but I'm not exactly sure where the track is from there. Hallet Raceway?

I havnt been up to hallet but it should be around tulsa, im in OKC and i think its 1.5 hrs north of me... tulsa is about 2 hrs away

Great pics! I lived in Aurora for a year back when I was in the Air force, but was driving a '72 145S wagon. Real tank but not much for carving up roads...
