    Problematic steering rack?

So a year ago I smacked into a curb in the snow, resulting in a bent inner tie rod. I replaced the tie rod which fixed the alignment issues, but my steering hasn't been the same since. The steering is heavy, and if I'm on a gradual turn I can stay in the turn without having my hands on the wheel (sticky steering). I've inspected the other control arms and nothing else is bent. Is it possible I could have damaged my steering rack? what could I have even damaged in the rack? my motor is coming out soon, so I'm wondering if I should replace the rack?

could have bent something from the sounds of your story. which could be misaligning the gearing and rod. have you checked your PS fluid level? have you noticed any leaks or does it look/feel like there is fluid in one of your inner tie rod boots?

if you do replace the rack, i've had excellent success with these guyshttp://www.carsteering.com

You definitely could have shifted the way the rack and pinion mate together, causing there to be more resistance to movement.
