I have a question when regarding to running the wire around the A pillar and fuse box. How do I pop out the A pillar in order to place the wire behind it (or is it necessary?) so I can than run it down to the fuse box? Also whats the proper way to pop out the fuse box cover? I've tried searching but haven't had any luck so any help would be appreciated. Thanks

you don't need to take off the a-pillar, just tuck the wire the thin way between the windshield and down the pillar. it'll be a bit tight so you should carefully run the wire straight to prevent kinks. if it won't go in easy, use a license or something thin to nudge it in. the fuse box should just pry out carefully, i think it says how in the manual.

Actually, it's easier to run the cord around the A-pillar near the top at the seam between the pillar cover and the headliner. You don't have to make as sharp a turn as if you ran it down to the base of the windshield.

To the OP, this is easily done by just tucking the cord into that seam. Nothing needs to be removed.

Yeah its very simple, I hardwired my V1 using someone's guide on AudiWorld I think. I'll try to find the guide and post it here, it was very helpful.

If you look at the fuse box cover really close you'll see a spot in it to pry it off.

Can someone tell me which fuse that you have tapped into and did you use an ATO or mini add on fuse?? What amps are safe for the radar (I have the 9500ix)?

well I think this answers my question in how to wire in a satnav into my car. (mount it down in bottom left corner and don't have to deal with A-pillar.

now which fuse should you tap into is my question? or is there any 'free' spots you can use for anything...?

Any help? What amount of Amps should I be using in the add-a-line circuit that would not damage the radar?

if your cable has a built in fuse, i don't think it matters (?). i tried a bunch of fuses and the only one that worked right was the fuel pump which was 25a. with that the v1 turns on when i hit the unlock button, so its not quite right but good enough as a temp solution. im pretty sure some of the open slots will work, just haven't had the time to try them out.

If you haven't tapped into your fuse box yet I would pull the dash down and go under the fuse box where the power is getting distrabuted just to make it a safe and clean look, but if you don't want to go through all that tapping a fuse would work to , now you can't just pick any fuse and use it 5 amp fuse would work fine look on the fuse cover for a radio, cig fuse those r ur best bets or the windshield wipper fuse when tapping into the fuse make sure its acc so the radar willturn on and off with ur car then pull the fuse out and test it again and see which side the power is coming from tap the wire to that side of the fuse so u don't put to much strain on the devise fuse you are using and it is still protected. Hope this helped out any other question let me know

I finished hardwiring the radar last night and it looks very good. I'll take some picture tomorrow and post it on here. FYI I used a 2 Amp fuse for the add-a-circuit just to be safe and it works great.
