I was thinking of doing this, but after reading thru some stuff looks like there is more into it. Any tips?

I need to do this too, but I think I'm going to take it somewhere. Doing this on jack stands doesn't look fun.

It is as hard as the DIY on AW says. Not that difficult if you know what you are doing. Just a few bolts and snap rings.

Doug, where does the extra pieces actually go? I am debating on doing this now since they got the lift working here at work. Thanks

Finally tackled this and its definitely a DIY. The hardest part was removing the snap ring from the flange, but other than its pretty straight forward.

Not addressed in the AW DIY, the seal has an inner and an outer lip, The outer lip is the "dust seal", and protects the inner lip seal. The writer of the DIY on AW, put the grease in the wrong place. The grease is placed in the groove between the dust seal lip, and the inner main oil seal lip.
This grease is to lubricate the seal lips during the run in period of the new seal.

    What is the part number?

I want to make sure the one my dealer gave me is the right one. Looks kind of small in diameter.
