    Eibach spring settle?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I finally had my Eibach pro street springs installed on my '07 s-line, and it seems like the passenger side rear is lower than the driver side. I know everyone says wait a week or so for the springs to settle before getting an alignment, but this seems abnormal. It looks like the passenger side is about 0.5-1 inch lower than the driver side. I imagined it was a PITA to install the springs myself, but the springs are two different sizes so...could the guys that installed them have jacked something up or am I crazy? A little insight would be appreciated...

I have Eibach's and mine looked great as soon as I put them on. I would take it back to they guys who did the work, because something is not right.

Yeah, I was hopin they didn't F somethin up, but it doesn't make any sense for one side of the rear to be any lower than the other.

Would the camber or toe or whichever one is in the rear have an affect on it? I did notice that I sit flush on the driver side, but the passenger side is tucked a little.

I wouldnt think that would cause that much of a difference between the front and rears.

i have the exact same problem on my b5 with eibach and koni yellow they run fine as of today, but from the last check on the car (1 year ago) my mechanic said that on of the rear shocks is bad never found the time or money to rebuild it / replace it, but still the car is great, maybe this is the problem for the uneven height

SOMETIMES.... the driver side is higher, because then when you are riding in your car it sits level....but if you have a noticeable gap.. take the car back to the installer

You don't corner balance springs as they're not adjustable.

Take it back to the installer. Are you on stock shocks?

Well, this sounds like it may possibly be a symptom of a blown shock absorber. Sometimes blown shocks will compress over a bump, but will not fully de-compress until much later if at all, leaving the car sitting lower on that side. This is really why pairing shocks and struts that are designed to be used together is important. Hopefully, the shop just screwed up on the installation somehow and you don't have to rush order some shocks. Either way, take it back and they'll let you know.

I have the Koni FSD/Eibach pro kit and my passenger side is .25 inches lower than the drivers side. I learned to live with it. But .5-1 inch is quite a bit! Should def take it back to the installer

I wonder if they tightened the suspension bolts with the suspension hanging or compressed. They really should tighten them when the suspension is compressed to avoid making the rubber bushings bind up. My Eibach's didn't settle any noticeable amount and are even all around.

Something was done wrong, that's sure.

    BUMP

I got my wheels aligned, and the problem is gone for the most part. I think there is still a slight difference between the two sides. I need to take my car to Audi for the coil packs (finally), so I'll have them look at it, and if they need to correct something, I'll have the shop that jacked the install up the first time pay for it (hopefully).

Oh, and I'll try top post the first pics of my car on this forum soon so you can see what I am talking about. Hopefully you wont be able to notice.

Why don't you just take it back to the shop that installed it? Not sure I see the logic in waiting/and having the Audi Dealer inspect it.

I already did, and they said they thought it was the camber, so it was sent to the shop for alignment.
