I am trying to upgrade my system. I want to take out the stock sub and out in a aftermarket one in its place or on the other side. Does anyone have a write up on how to build a custom sub box or know of where i can purchase one.

Yes i did a search and found to pics but no write up.

I just built a custom ported box for mine with a JL Audio 8W3v3 and it honestly pounds louder and more accurate than most 10's and some 12's. Its all about airspace and maximizing a woofer for it. Also, 8's play tighter and are more bunchy in your upper sub freqs. I cross my amp over at 100hz and tuned my port to 34hz and it sounds awesome. My box is build in all 1/2" MDF and has an internal volume of .42 cu ft so there is lots of space back there...

I need to come check out your set up sometime. Also did you do this yourself or have a shop do it?

thanks for the links. But those are for sedan stock amp placement. I'm looking for avant (wagon) replacement or on the other side.

I would love a Digital designs 1508 in a ported box tuned to 40hz. That should pound pretty damn hard.

Ive heard 2 of these little 8 inchers and I can honnestly say they are very very loud for 8's.
