2009 Audi A4 halogen to Bi-Xenon help please. I am new to Audi.

I just bought Audi A4 but without the bi-xenon headlights, all it has is the halogen lights, I want to do the conversion but I dont know what all I need and what it takes to change it.
Could you guy point me into the right direction please.

Also what's the difference between the Europe bi xenon headlight versus US bi xenon other then the amber lights? Also how do you make that led stripe more blue then the yellow?

Sorry for all the newb question. The Audi is very different from what i'm used to.

Help help will be appreciated! =)

Go the B8 A4 Tech Forum. There you will find an extensive thread which should tell you everything you need to know about the conversion.

Just search Halogen to Bi-Xenon and you will find tons of threads with all the information you could possibly want.

It's actually very easy to change out. What have you read that makes you feel that it may be difficult?

I have done the conversion myself,

I will say it can get quite costly, I ordered them from fellow forum member Jens (lowestA4) however, he may tell you these sets are very hard to come by now brand new due to the facelift audis coming out.

Coding and programming are done through a Vag-Com device (do a search)...this will configure your car electronically to the new lights

I would say that's about everything. And yep CODING is a necessity or else the lights won't work. You need a VAGCOM device. I personally don't have one, but my local shop does and they did it for me.

was it pretty easy to install i mean everything that was listed? how long did it take and how much it cost you? You think pretty much any shop has that ability to code?

Read that past thread. It really does tell everything. And it's a simple plug in, you plug one end into the car and the other into the headlights. And you run one of the exposed wires into the cabin for high beams. I can't go into detail for that because I didn't do the install. My shop did.

It cost me $1,125 to my door. + installation

yeah, I saw it says what pin and all but I would feel iffy about actually doing that part of the install.
What shop did you bring it to? Wonder could I bring it to any shop for install?

I'm not sure where you live, but I took it to German Motoring. And it depends the shop of course, you can't take it to a body shop! :D

So any shop which specializes in Audi should have a VAGCOM. Just call them and inquire.

I have a brand new Kufatec for sale if your interested. I bought it with the intention of doing the HL conversion myself but rather spend more elsewhere than on lights. Just shoot me a PM.
