So I am ordering the last few items for my install of K04s, vast's fueling kit with RS4 intake. What is a good clutch that will be good for stage 3 power and be good for a true daily driver?

get Vast Stage 3 hybrid, holds stage 3 power just fine and drives like a stock clutch. Perfect combo. It is Southbend clutch disc as far as I know but ask Vast.

SouthBend Kevlar Stage II or the Stage III OFE. Stage II has the best street manners, but the stage III can hold more torque.

PM me if you want a deal.

after assloads of research I feel qualified to weigh in. After talking to several guys via phone and emails i have settled with a stage 5 sb clutch with the 8 puck segmented ceramic pressure plate. I have heard feramic sucks and can weld itself to other parts due to heat. I was leaning towards clutchmasters but once i learned about the ceramic pressure plate i decided on SB

I've sold a lot of VAST stage 2 and 3 clutches for Stage 3 cars, and I've had VERY few complaints. I ran a Stage 3 clutch on my own K04 car for a long time with well over 100 hard launches (some of them were 5500rpm clutch drops), and never had a single problem. Drove nearly identical to the stock S4 clutch, with the RS4 PP giving a little bit more resistance than the S4 PP. Beautiful clutch for a daily driver Stage 3.

Agreed... I've sold the V3 clutch to a few local customers and they tell me its by far one of the best mods to their car.... I just switched up to the S3 setup from a RS4 in November and its such a great improvement..

We've got a bunch of Clutchmaster kits out there.. Stage 3 with steel flywheels are a very popular option.

Not necessarily. You will most likely need to resurface your existing flywheel.

Many chose to go with a lightweight flywheel, since it allows the engine to rev up/down quicker.
    sold :(

I've used both the stock FW as well as LWFW's, and I personally would stick with stock. The free-revving advantage is not nearly pronounced enough for me to give up the durability and drive-ability of the stock FW.

Like imola said, you should re-surface your existing FW if installing a new clutch disc.

Almost all instances of Feramic sticking to the flywheel has been on the aluminium flywheels with the steel insert, since there is a heat barrier between the friction surface and the aluminum flywheel the steel insert can overheat and melt...

You can't go wrong with Southbend

i just put in the vast stage 3 (southbend), I thought something was wrong because it is the same as stock as far as drive ability. Just got done with break in and it holds beautifully, my stock was slipping at 40K with a stage 1 chip.

    +1 for Vast stage 3
