I want a camera that has a phone, not a phone that has a camera

Ahem... I haz the Instict HD, which I could be wrong, but IIRC was the first phone (at least on Sprint's network) to have the 5MP camera.

The camera gets grainy and the colors aren't as vibrant. Plus if you try to enlarge the photo it gets pixelated. Here's an example of what I'm talking about:

I thought the pictures on my Storm2 were pretty good.....that is ASSUMING you have fuckin surgeon hands and can hold it steady enough while depressing the button for 3 seconds....which when I take 99% of my pictures, i cant do.

I have a shitty 2.0 mp and if you hold you breath just right you can get a good pic. Its good enough to capture those WTF moments.

I don't think my Storm takes too bad of photos. They're a hell of a lot better than my Palm.

And now that I am back on the road, I just keep my camera in the Center console of my Yukon. If I see anything I want to photograph, its right there for me to grab.

In my opinion Sony and Nokia have the best cameras on their phones. Nokia has a Carl Zeiss lens, and Sony makes decent cameras by themselves.

cell phones won't sell these days if they resemble Zach Morris' brick, so they have to be thin and light. cramming all the parts for a functioning cell phone (and, of course, 3G/Wifi, storage, etc) PLUS a big enough sensor and associated parts to take sweet-ass pics would result in some weird disfigured shape, or make the phone too big.

also, it doesn't matter how many MP the sensor is (higher number = bigger pictures, but do you really need to take 4K pics of your dog?), there are way more factors in taking good pics than just now many MP it is.

That's what my 20d is for. But none of the cameras out today come even close to the picture quality of the SE c905, which coincidentally takes the same "size" pic as my 20d. I'm a picture whore, so having an all in one like the Satio is worth it...to me at least.

It's a shame because the camera itself is actually rather good. The software used for the camera sucks.

Maybe RIM will sack up.....HA! yeah right. I fee like nokia and SE are waayyy ahead of the game. It's probably because the GSM market is open to so many tech savvy and tech demanding countries/markets.

The GSM market is like Audi, and CDMA is like a rusted '78 Ford Pinto on blocks. I hate that I am tied down to CDMA. They just blow every other provider out of the water in my area, and I get a corporate discount through work with them. I have little choice otherwise.
