    Koni FSD dampers

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Something that might be interesting to ask to other owners with springs only,
I have the H&R Lowest version of springs, don't know wich one it is called in the US OE/OE sport?
These FSD dampers should give an extra bit of comfort and handling to the car
but is it worth the extra cost, aprox 700€ let's say +/-950$
Or would it be best to say the extra money and install coilovers?
Knowing that I do NOT plan to lower the car any more..

This is the 1st I've heard of Koni FSDs on B8 A4s. I wasn't aware that they were released yet, so this would be good news if it weren't for the fact that they are ~$950 That price + the cost of H&R springs brings you very close to the price of coilovers.

I suppose if you already have the H&R springs, getting the Koni FSDs might save you some money over coilovers. That being said, consider the fact that you should be able to sell your H&R springs to recoup some money if you go for the coilover setup (even tho you won't ever be adjusting height).

btw, the lowest H&R springs in the US are the Super Sports.

I think I remember Koni FSDs being less than $600 for the B7. Is EU really that much more expensive, especially considering that Koni products are from Germany (I think)?

Eu = different market. I sourced items from US before, that were actually made in by EU firms. It was actually cheaper to pay postage + duty than to purchase item in EU.
Example. Bilstain B16 in EU 1700 Euros (without installation costs, and thats if purchasing via online from a German company).

I have the FSD's/Neuspeed springs on the A3. Hindsight tells me I should have gotten CO's. Will not make this mistake with the Avant.

FSD's don't work well with ANY lowering spring. If you plan to use lowering springs, run with KONI Sports or Bilstein shocks instead.

At this point wouldn't it just be more cost effective to install some "economy" coilovers?
