Niether one of these have huge amounts of lag, so either way I'm sure you will be happy. There are tons of threads on this so use the search button on it.
The lag difference between the two is minimal at best. The 28elim. has a smoother power delivery where the 2871elim. hits a bit harder.

Either turbo will be a fun ride, and you will get use to it rather quickly either way... I would recommend the 71elim. the higher power is worth it for the price difference.
The same thread is going on just 4 threads below, read through it. Everyone withe the gtrs is going to say "the faster boost is better" and everyone with the 71r is going to say "the higher power is better" at the end of the day I honestly think you will like either one... until you want more and you jump up to a 30 series. =)

i think you all got off topic here. he was wondering about a high flow exhaust manifold. it it work the extra $350 or so for it?

OP: i'm sure you can run the elim turbo without the high flow exhaust mani, (thats why they were designed) but better performance will be made with one.

Here ya go, two pics I took of my 034 and stock manifolds side by side while doing my BT build. Its worth the extra dough.

I will be honest though, changing these out for the first time is definitely a pain in the ass even with the right tools and a lift.

working around the intake isn't the problem. The problem is getting to those nuts that hold the mani to the block. The easiest way to do is to put the turbo, mani and test pipe together first and then bolt it in.
