    Clunk in Front end???

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I just upgraded all my suspension to bilstein shocks and neuspeed sport springs. Before I replaced everything there was a clunking in my front end. I thought it was just because my shocks were shot, but after i replaced everything the clunking was still there. I'm guessing it bushings, but i'm not sure which ones. Any help on this delima and where i can get the new parts would be greatly appreciated. THANKS

+1 on checking the bushings.....you may have torn a bushing during installation - torquing the nut on those bushings too much will cause it to bust

I hate the same thing on the pass front. Any little bump even at very slow speeds it clunks and rattles. I am guessing it's the control arms haven't really looked.

if you hear it like just before coming to a stop while going slow, most probably its you front subframe!

Search a bit there are lots of thread with symptoms and resolution !

I hear it all the time I hit bumps. Now when I do hit the brakes I do here a sort of loud high pitch clunk from that side as well. But since there are so many control arm problems I figured the bushing is bad and causing metal to metal when I hit the brakes. I will search even though the new search sucks and see what I get.

when you did your suspension did you tighten the shock to the subframe @ lock? if not it would be loose and cause it to be kinda crappy. also, check the both on the inside of your hood. sometimes it might need an extra washer due to the shortened shock to make it as tight as it should be. also the control arms are a possibility.

if not bushings, could be Wheel Bearing and/or CV Joint. If you are CPO or still under warranty..dealership should fix. That is how i i got my clunking fixed.
