Ok, quick easy question. How do i get the airbox out of the car? Once the hoses and wires are removed, do i just pull it away from the fender? There is some rubber grommet holding it on.

There is a plastic pin that goes into the fender that you have to pull out. Then there are 2 rubber grommets that hold it down to the frame rail, it just takes some force to pull it out and up.

Yup just pop out that plastic pin at the top and give it a wiggle and a yank straight up.

make sure the steel hard line from the EVAP system is disconnected.....

Yep, pull it off the grommet and then out of the two tabs at the bottom. It's a PITA to get back in though...

I agree completely. It's a job to get that thing sitting in right after you remove the bugger.

Yea I'll give it a whirl tomorrow. I'm going to remove all the emissions crap right away, so I might as well learn how to remove this stuff now. And the whole thing needs a good cleaning anyhow.

Do you have to take it out to replace the filter? or can you just slide the filter in?

I think you can just remove the upper half to change the filter.

The top part kind of hinges up so you can slide the filter in. It doesn't need to come off.

you can slide the filter in but it will take some force and the occasional pinched finger. don't forget swearing.
