I cannot believe how piss poor the communication is with a lot of Motorsports/Auto parts vendors out there. Being that I am in sales (Telecommunications equipment for CATV/Telco companies) I am appalled at the response time for inquires made or the general poor support from many companies. I have been doing research for which way to go with my S4 and have contacted many different vendors out there. Probably half of them never even responded to my inquiries! I am not going to drop names except one, BBS of America. They did respond to me via email but the responses came of as curt, almost like I was annoying them. They then pushed me off to a secondary vendor who never responded to me at all. These inquires were about issues with my BBS RF wheels (out of production obviously) but come on, if I have a customer that contacts me with issues they are having with a node they bought from me, that is now out of production, I bend over backwards to find a solution for them and guess what, they return for other business because they remember the outstanding support I offered them. I will NEVER buy another BBS product in my life, period. They have a great product but the customer support in my opinion was lacking. The sad thing is, they actually responded, just not in a very professional way. Some of these other vendors? I do not even know how they are in business the customer service is so bad.
Any vendors that may read this take note. The way you correspond with your customers, in many ways, is actually more important then how wonderful the product you are selling may be. You should use the same enthusiasm with a customer looking for brake pads, as a customer looking to drop 4k on a full big brake kit because guess what, the guy buying the brake pads today, very well could be the guy buying a full brake kit tomorrow. If you didn't offer great customer service for the pads, do you think they are going to come to you for a full kit?
Anyways, I am sure others have had bad experiences with vendors out there also so, feel free to vent here....
