What colour should I paint my calipers?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Alright, I just got new V710's which unfortunately show off my ugly rusting brakes, so I decided I needed to do something about it. I bought a set of Adam's rotors (see picture) and am going to paint my stock calipers as well. Now here's where I need your help, I can't decide for the life of me what colour I should paint them.

Red I feel is sporty and would tie into the taillights well, but might be a bit too flashy and BBK wannabeish. Black is classy and matches the rest of the car, but I'm thinking my car might just be becoming too "murdered". Silver is also classy and would match my rings and headlights but might just be too boring.

Since I can't decide I'm leaving it completely up to AZ and painting them whatever colour has the most votes when it comes time to paint them.

    For reference:

    Rotors that are coming in:

Honestly, my fav color is red, but I think it looks tacky on anything but a BBK. You car looks awesome, I think either black or silver would look good on your setup.

Don't think I'll go pink or lime green. Maybe dark blue but it doesn't really tie into my car.

just paint them black for now, unless you are or will be going with a theme later on.

then when you are ready for some great looks, and performance, go with a BBK and paint that any color, or leave it as is from the factory.

i think some silver alcons would look amazing

I think your at the perfect level of "murder" and red would definitely add some great contrast without being too flashy.

    i vote red

    Edit:
How can you possibly go wrong with red calipers? DOO IT

I always choose black over anything because I think it looks great on everything. My car is black too but my wheels are the s-line 18 so if I was going to paint mine it would be black. But since your car and wheels are black I think it would be too much.

That's why I voted red. Put the white Audi logo on there and it will look perfect on that car IMO.

BTW, you better let us know what you decide and post some pics when it's done

What are you going to do to lower your car? Coils or springs/shocks kit?

    Good luck

I'll definitely post pics when it's all said and done. I'm dropping it on the Koni FSD/Eibach Kit.

I'd go with black or silver. I agree that red is "BBK wannabeish".

Red is for BBK, you are right. I would pick black or silver, balck being the preference since the silver might blend too much with the rotors.

IMO red looks great. Im not a wannabe, i like the look and F*** 3k for a BBK. Its an A4 not an R8. Do what you like, and good luck choosing.

Red isn't specific for BBK, our brakes are the same size as S4's. So i guess we have a BBK and a S4 should get a BBK!

I voted black, but I think yellow would look pretty sweet too. If you opt for black, you could get a decal of the four rings in RED if you're worried about it being too bland...

B5 s4's ...Not anything current. And I don't think they came in red from factory. We have single piston calipers...Nothing that compares to a BBK. Not even close.

I also use the 710s in the winter and I painted mine black because the gray looked like garbage. They blend in nicely. No reason to attract visual attention to a bone stock brake setup.
