I desperately need a shifter for my B5 S4, the previous owner installed a cheapo short throw and putting it into reverse the stick clean broke off. I cant source one from the dealer until the parts department opens on Monday but I have work and class. I would be willing to pay a more than fair price for it. Any help finding one or buying it off you would be greatly appreciated.

dude, i'm actually pretty sure i have my stock shifter lying around in my toolbox!

it's just the stick/connector to the shift linkage, but i think it should work for you. gimme a text/call at 920 318 1561, name's matt. i'd offer to drive down tonight, but my rms and i just cracked open some 40s, but tomorrow after we're back from our drive I can drop it off at your place and help you install it if need be. I'm not trying to make a profit off it either man, i hate it when shit like this happens, i'm glad to help a brotha out!

It wasn't cheap. With shipping, I paid nearly $300.00 for it and at the time Statmosphere had a reputation for the best short throw for the B5...

Perhaps you should let them know that it broke... Also, I believe that I gave you the OEM one when you bought the car.

Sorry Jim, I thought that it was cheap because the taper on the shaft right where it broke looked like it shouldn't be there. I couldn't find any reason for this thinning out right where it would seem to need it the most. I cant seem to find the OEM unit anywhere and i didn't mean to offend you.

No offense taken, just pointing out the manufacturer so you can let them know there may be a problem with their part. The link is also a good resource if you need instructions to put the OEM one back in. I am glad to see people on forums like these are there for one another... Group hug!!!

hahaha I'm still kind of stumped over how the hell that shifter sheared right off and how those spacers function! oh well, hopefully stratmosphere pulls through!
