B7 avant cargo cover - can't get it out

I'm following the instructions in the manual on how to remove the avant cargo cover, but I can't get it out. It says to fold the seats down and slide the cargo cover towards the passenger side of the car, which I do. However, it seems to hit a hard stop when sliding it to the right, like it's not meant to slide anymore, but the cover won't lift out. Any suggestions?

In my C5, you release the seats and give the cover a good solid thump towards the driver's side, then you can wriggle it out of its track.

    Edit
Well sheeit, now I'm second guessing myself about which direction to push.
But I can say that once it moves, it takes a quick bit of wigglin to remove it.

Glad to be of so much help...

Mine ('04 S4) definitely slides out toward the passenger side.

it's a fairly heavy beast--it might take some kajigling to get it loose?

At this point I'm going to have the dealer do it when it's in there in a few weeks. I slammed it as hard as I could to the passenger side (it definitely moves, about 2 inches), but can tell when yanking up that it isn't clear of the latches. I tried for an hour to no avail, so there might be something blocking it.

I just checked on mine, and didn't see any kind of locking mechanisms or anything... :-/
it's just held in place by the side of the car, and when the seats are down, mine comes out really easily.
I can post a picture of what's under there if you think that'd help?

Thanks for the offer, but I'm guessing something is wrong with mine (though I don't see how anything could get in there to block it or what not).

When yours is all the way to the side and ready to pull out, does it hit a "hard" stop?

Yours sounds the same as mine, just lifts right on out, there are some metal blocks on it but they don't appear to lock into anything. Maybe they should be though, and it might cure some of the rattles from back there.

When I slide mine to the passenger side, I notice it looks like it still has about an inch to go in the slots into which it locks (hard to see). I'm assuming it's supposed to slide all the way over?

It's odd, because when it stops sliding, it feels like it's meant to - doesn't feel like something is in there blocking it. But, when I pull up, it's definitely still attached to the seat. I gave it some serious muscle, and felt like I was going to snab the tabs off.
