I also was under the impression that my reserve time was absolved via the discharge, but I was mistaken and have been recalled. I'm trying to fight my assignment, but it's an uphill battle and the government is gonna come out on top yet again, most likely

If I'm gone on this mission, wedding is frago'd for now and will be postponed. Hence the reason why I'm so pissed. Deposit on the honeymoon? gone. Deposit on the wedding/reception locations? Gone.

Not to sound like a dumbass but if it's a year long deployment and you don't think you'd make it back from the mission, wouldn't the prison term be a better option? I'm sure that's not how you'd like to go about it, just asking why not though I guess.
