worth buying a mbc to have with me in case it happens again at the track. I have only had one fail which was the original.

it is advisable to buy a new one when you go stage 3. As a matter of fact, Vast stage 3 kit actually includes one. Given that it lasted for about 10 years in your car, albeit at stock PSIs most of time, I would say that they don't fail that often...

I agree with julex. The N75 is just a solenoid, and isn't something that fails very often. It isn't uncommon for brand new N75 valves to be faulty, though.

Ive had one fail on my S4 and 2 on my 1.8T. Bad luck maybe? One of the bad ones on the 1.8T was bad from the dealership. Third worked like a charm. But they dont seem to fail very often.

If your tune can allow for it, an MBC is simpler and allows more control. Spool faster too, as the wastegates stay shut for longer. That being said, majority of people run them with no issues. If you never care about adjusting your boost or anything, then I see no reason to use an MBC (aside from simplifying things, which I am all about).
