Is this the right Bluetooth Module for my car?

So I called dibs on http://www.audizine.com/classifieds/...2-336-c&cat=37

I have an 05.5 A4 non s-line, Symphony II (not II+) non bose

    bluetooth module part #8T0-862-336-C

Does anyone know if this is the right one for my car?

Also I will need to buy the harness, mic and antenna and wiring. Can anyone tell me the part #'s and where I can find these parts for the cheapest? genuinevwaudiparts.com any others.

Also. haha. I found an ebay ad selling a bluetooth module. description is:

Brand new AUDI Bluetooth module for A3, A4, A6, TT.
    With free BT antenna.
Microphone and cable wiring are optional.
    Part Brand: Becker (?)

    HW: 8P0 862 335 S H38
    SW: 8P0 862 335 AA 0600

Is that the correct module for my car?

    Thanks in advance.

*last question...if I upgrade to Symphony II+ or RNS-E, am I going to have to get a new BT module?

It looks like that module is the newest module and will work with your car.

You are not going to have to upgrade the module if you go from a Symphony II+ to an RNS E. You will need a new wiring harness, but your module and everything else is fine.

Here are the part numbers for the mic and antenna

    L1 862 373A - Microphone
    8P0 035 503E - Antenna

You can source the parts on numerous sites but avoid Kufatec/OEM PLUS. I had an issue when I bought just the module from AZ and tried ordered the rest from them
    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...hlight=kufatec

That module is a good deal. If you don't want to source a kit you can wait and a full kit will usually come up in the classifieds. I just bought a complete kit on here for less than $400.

The Ebay module will work with your car.

Here is a link to a full kit with everything neded. I bet he is willing to negotiate on his price.

Also, don't forget that you will also need someone with a Vag Com to code your car. Nothing will work if it's not coded properly.

If you are doing the install yourself this is a good link

No Problem. I have spent a ton of time researching this and have bought and sold a few kits.

    Antenna http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/8P0_035_503E/ES457018/

    Mic http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B7_A4-...373A/ES453868/

Any bluetooth module with a part number 8P0 862 335 will work with your car.

    For 2005 A4's the PN was 8P0 862 335 D

They keep updating them and the later the letter the better. So, 8P0 862 335 E is newer than 8P0 862 335 D .

I honestly don't know of anyone that has installed the 8T0-862-336-C modules. Judging by the part number it's likely to be out of the new B8's. Someone might chime in and confirm. To be safe you can just go with anything newer than 8P0 862 335 D.

If you plan on upgrading to an RNS E, then you will want to go newer than 8P0 862 335 D since it won't allow you to pull up your phonebook and missed calls on your RNS E.

Yeah, I'll add a bit. IDK if the new module will work with these A4's as the interface is different. But something with a basic function (for example, 8P0 862 335 D) will work if you have the Symphony's, but not with the RNS-E (this is the problem I'm currently having; it will work, but the phone and the nav won't sync so your address book or caller ID isn't displayed). If you plan on upgrading to a nav system, get something with full functionality right off the bat. Also make sure you buy a US BT unit (Audiforum.us has a good break down of all the module revisions); some have reported having issues with Euro units in US cars. Buy the harness and microphone from Kufatec (the mike is half the price of the ECS one). I can get you the antenne if you need. You'll also need radio removal keys to pull the radio.

Matt, you answered my question. I will ask anyway, in case someone has a solution via Vag-Com coding.

Question: will a euro module work on a US car?
