    Goodbye

Great group of people and resourceful forum!

I do a lot of driving and only keep my cars for a yr or two. So had my prem plus 09 a4 for 15 months and traded it. I put 50k miles on it in this time. Traded it at 70k miles. I got $20k trade allowance on it. They started at $16k. And got into my new to me 2010 caddi cts performance package, nav, glass roof, with 17k miles for trade value with a CPO up to 100k miles. I enjoyed the a4 but this car out of warranty scarred the shit out of me. In the time I had it the climate system, control arms, and turbo were replaced. The CTS is pretty impressive. Loaded compared to the A4 I had. Both are great cars but time for a change!

To each their own. Best of luck with your new vehicle. I had an '08 CTS and had nothing but problems. Lease ended on it, and I couldn't wait to return it (even turned it in a month early because Audi agreed to pay the first month on my A4). I'd buy a million more A4's before I bought another CTS. Haven't had a single issue with my '11 A4. It's funny to drop by the Cadillac forums from time to time. Most threads on there are about problems and issues. When I came to Audizine, I was so impressed with the fact that the majority of threads were about modifications, etc. Definitely a nice change. I sure hope that if you live in a winter climate, you opted for the AWD. The RWD won't get you anywhere in the snow.

In no way am I trying to offend you; just sharing my CTS experience. I wish you the best of luck. In all fairness, I did have the first production year of the redesign. Hopefully they fixed a lot of the bugs by 2010. The CTS is a nice looking, well-performing vehicle. It's very comfortable to drive, and definitely turns heads. I just had way too many problems with mine, which left a very sour taste in my mouth towards the CTS. The ATS looks to be a good competitor for Cadillac though.

Anyways, drop by now and then to let us know how you like it. Congrats on the new ride.

Yes it's awd. The 08 was the first yr of the new body right? First yr cars have issues. Like my a4 did.

Yea I was at the dealer today and the ats is very sweet. Has brembos and is just a real nice car!

Good choice on the AWD. You'll be glad you got it. My RWD CTS was a bitch to get around in during winter (even with good snow tires).

Yeah, '08 was the first year of the new body. Good point that your A4 was the first year model too. Haven't had any problems with my '11 A4 (2 years in from the first year of the redesign), so hopefully your '10 CTS will be problem-free as well (being 2 years in from the redesign).

I have yet to see the ATS in person, but have read a lot about it. My local Caddy dealership just got one in, so I may go check it out this weekend (looking only- I love my A4). Brembo's? Wow, good move for Cadillac.

Nice car though. Aside from all the problems I had, I did love my CTS.

If you're looking for any parts, let me know. Think I have a D3 Cadillac intake hanging around here somewhere.

If I feel the same I will be back I keep cars like a yr or so. Loved the Audi but not out of warranty. The dealers in my area want like $300-$500 every 7500 miles for service. Plus they are over an hour away. So that's like every 2 months for me. Just not feeling it anymore. Plus I don't want this car with high miles and no warranty. It is on the verge of being very problematic. Forgot to mention my power seat stopped working and it hangs in 2nd gear sometimes for no reason.

I know every car has issues but I trade in and out while that are still worth a few dollars. So if this cts ends up not fitting the bill than I will go to another make. Prob not Back to Audi though.

Plus I'm 31 and this is my 11th car so I feel I owe it to purchase my first American car....

    Good luck with it.
Over 10k in warranty repairs on my 2010 has me kinda worried also.
But let's hope all the gremlins are out now.

Me thinks you will be back in a b8.5 in a year or two.

congrats on the new ride! 31 and the CTS, so next you'll be in a lincoln or 7-series? ;)

I like how the dash is black, while the rest of the interior works with the light seats. Screw the a4 and the stupid beige headliner with black-everything-else.

Hahaha! Yea the interior has carbon looking inlays and not wood. So that makes it closer to my age. I also do like to contrast.

You will laugh because I test drove an STI for the hell of it a few weeks ago and although it was fun I felt like I was in a go cart. Not that I was interested in the STI (wanted and auto for all the driving i do) but just wanted to see what they are all about. The whole 5 miles I drove it I felt like 16 yr olds thought I was awesome and cops wanted to pull me over.

I would tell you if I was cross shopping for a new car a4 or ats. It would be the ats hands down. They are big $$ though. Well the loaded one I was looking at was while my oil was getting changed. I refuse to buy new or pay $40-50k for a car so count me out until they hit the used market in a few years.
