Trim options available on B6?

Can someone confirm the trim options on these cars?

- base 1.8T had gray trim
- fishscale option with 1.8T and 3.0
- woodgrain w/ base 3.0
- piano black, woodgrain, carbon fiber, and brushed alum all available on S4

I ask because i'm about to get my 3.0 woodgrain painted gloss black and just want to make sure i'm not taking a step back to some basic option, as i've heard of "base black" but not sure if this was for S4 or other models.

What's wierd is from year to year, audi changed what was standard vs optional. For example they'd switch (B6 A4, B7 A4, and B7 S4) whether aluminum or another trim was standard. All of these fit our cars.

B6:
Fishscale Aluminum (A4 02 1.8T std, 03-05 opt, USP std.)
High Gloss Fibreglass (A4 03-05 1.8T std.) -Grayish color.
Dark Walnut (A4 3.0 std.)
Gray birch Wood (S4 std.)
Bright Aluminum (S4 opt.)
Carbon Fiber (S4 special order only.)

B7:
Dark Walnut (A4)
Vavona (A4) - Lighter color wood.
Aluminum Trim (A4) - Assume Fishscale.
Brushed Aluminum from GmbH (S4, S-Line)
Piano Black from GmbH. (Titaium)
Gray Birch wood: (S4)
Carbon Fiber: (S4)

I have the fiberglass. It looks pretty close to black. I have never thought of it as grey

after some googling i found pics of the options.

"base" 1.8T with gray fiberglass. I guess it does almost look black, but notice the light gray around the shifter:


B7 with piano black

Thats really odd to hear about the fiberglass gray. I have a base model a4 with all the sport options except suspension and mine is piano black

^is your interior black, and is it piano black around the shifter too? maybe fiberglass was only standard on light colored interior as it would look weird w/ black imo

The trim changed between each year i believe. The fishscales was standard in the 2002 1.8t models and wood was standard in the 3.0 02 models.

Yep, all black interior with black around the shifter too

The gray interior is boring so I decided to change it up a bit. This was the start of my black and gray theme. I have since also added black floor mats and will be staining the door pocket and speaker grilles black in the spring.

texas boy i watched your vid, your trim around your shifter is not piano black, looks like its just black plastic (dull finish).

Mine came with the Piano black, which i actually like a lot. Down by the shifter was the shitty plastic with the same "rubber" coating as on the radio..ect. I removed the shifter surround, the front ash tray and rear ash tray and replaced with the fishscale trim. I must say i think its the best setup you can have other than full out carbon fiber.

yeah, i think it'll look good as well. i'll pull the trigger on piano black then. i'm doing all 9 pieces. they will be sent away to be painted while i'm out of the country. will post up pics when i get back in a few months.
i've read somewhere that getting the front ashtray cover off requires the radio and climate control unit to be pulled. is this true or is there an easier way?
