For the DRL errors on DIS, on my B8 I resolved that problem by changing the DRL brightness with VCDS to '30'. It may be different on the facelift models.

thanx for the reply booost, thing is the error is saying my side lights not working and they are not lol. so people who have changed byte 00 from 69 to 23 rather then 26 are they having the same problem ? what i might do is have a look at what pin on the car loom is the side lights and see what pin they are on the new lights and see if the kufatec adaptors have anything in those pins, when we ordered the adaptors were were told that the b7 and b8 adaptors are the same is this true?

its def possbile lol was a few things i had to change which i didnt think i would, but its mainly headlights and headlight supports, wings (yes you have to as the new wings were about 1-2 cm longer which really wound me up) and bonnet. to finish it off need to get the cover that cover over the grill/slam panel. ummm then there was things like the wings supports and a few other plastic things. took me 8 months to get all the bits most of them i bought off ebay so the cost wasnt great, people used to say would cost too much but i didnt think so.

Thanks for the input, I know the wire, just mine is trimmed down so short. I don't know what kind of wire to get to extend it. Not sure if Kufatec can provide me a replacement for the single wire only

Why are they short? Mine were plenty long that I had to zip tie the remaining and tuck it in somewhere.
You need to call the vendor.

You probably shouldn't have bought it in that case but I guess it's too late.
See if you can extend it by hard wiring it with similar diameter of electrical wires, just make sure to tape it well.

I got a quote from a shop to do the wiring for $250 here in Houston. I don't think it justifies . I can get new adapters for $80 alternatively. I'll probably stick with low beam for now..

    $250 is a robbery.
Yes, do get a new kufatec wire and diy...
Even if you get the wiring fixed, you still have to wire it yourself anyways.

Hey guys! Just chiming in. I recently purchased everything needed to do the conversion (been religiously on Ebay for the the past 3 weeks to find the best deals possible). Hopefully I won't have a hard time installing everything; especially never having experience in coding. I also wanted to thank everyone in advance for all the help and useful information.

Nice man, good luck. I was able to swap everything over with the exception of the high beam wire, in about an hour.

It's possible to do it in an hour but if you have never done it before, set aside a little more than an hour... my conversion took 3~4 hours...

Thanks guys! I'll make sure to set aside 4 hours to do it. I've been doing some research on installing the headlight adapters. Whats the best way to run the high beam wires into the firewall and pinning it into the oem harnesses. I know this process takes the longest. I'll be doing this all by myself and is semi-mechanically inclined. I searched on youtube an found one video but heard people said it was terrible technique. Any pointers on that? please pardon my "newbieness" lol

I did more-less by the plan AsuDaniel(big thanks) - not hard, i had to change module as well - it was hardest part(not much space there and double check to pin new wires to the correct place). Coding my favorite part(nice, short and warm:)). Finaly found second new headlight - first- led color did not match. Take your time, especialy working under dash:)

    Hello,

I have a 2010 audi avant b8 with halogens and I want to retrofit to bixenon/drl.
    My question is:

I just only need these parts??

    - oem bixenon/drl headlamps
    - hid xenon kit http://www.ebay.com/itm/AUDI-D3S-OEM...-/250649586004
    - kufatec harness

Do I have to code anything, or are just plug and play??

    Thanks!

Damn it was a bitch routing the two wires from the kufatec adapters. Finally got them through. Took me over an hour lol. I ended up using a screw driver to puncture a hole big enough through both layers of firewall gromet from inside the car. Then fed the hanger from the bottom up. Then taped both wires with pins onto the wire hanger with electrical tape really tight. After that I pulled from inside the car and they came through. It took me about 3 tries. Next steps will have to happen tomorrow. Pinning etc...I'm doing this by myself by the way. Thanks again for the help PKaudi

I posted some photos in this thread about the routing. Going through the ECU is the easiest. I used a coat hanger to go through the ECU grommet, pulled the wires through then they went down and into the cabin. Pretty easy. Take a look back through this thread for the photos.

Thanks man I didn't find all this out until I already ran the wires though the gromet lol. I'm now stuck on which wire to plug where for the highbeams and my lower dash won't come off. I've already taken the 3 bolts off including the one in the fuse area. Everything else works great! LEDs and hids worked after coding

It doesn't matter. The car cant differentiate between the left and right. It simply moves the shutter in each light. All of this info is in this thread!
