the old fashion way w/ some tubing...suck it till it gets in your mouth then quickly transfer tube to container...or you can go to pep boys and buy a gas siphon

On an old Saab. Stick hose in, suck gas to get it flowing, place end in can and let it drain. Can should be lower.

I'd be surprised if you can siphon, most new cars have anti-siphon devices in the tank.

    Can you say driving time
Go enjoy the last few hours with your old car.

yea, well i dont want to get into an accident or anything, since its already paid for that would be a problem. the only driving its gonna see is to the shipping terminal tommorow. I guess i'll have to find a hose to siphon with..

Suck and spit. just like them vegas girls.... no, you can get a little pump, looks like a little football and pump the gas out, you will need the hose connected to that going into the gas can.. i think you can get them at an autozone or pepboys, good luck, either that or drive like hell for about 200-250 miles!!!

In the trunk there is an access hole for the gas tank. You can open it up (< 30 minutes) and siphon out of there since there seem to be an anti-siphon-device in the gas filler tube.

Why dont you just do it the easy way. Remove the return line after the FPR and add a tube from the metal line to the 5 gallon jug. Then start the car and it will empty the tank while the car is at idle. The other way is to power up the fuel pump fuse with 12volts.

Doing it with the car running allows you to know when the car runs out.

I say just let it idle for 8-10 hours. It doesn't have to be exactly 1/4 tank. I'm sure even a half of tank is fine. No need to waste your time turning wrenches and possibly messing something up (like I would do).

i gave up, the audi DOES have siphoning restrictors, i even used a fuel pump wired to a battery to try sucking it out, and we got nothing...

Mike, i would have no idea how to set that up with the FPR... otherwise i'd try it, but i think im over it, hopefully the shipper wont mind.

go into the trunk, take out your trunk mat...unscrew the big circle in the back, take out the pump inside (if there is one)...put a giant bucket in the spare-tire well...run as many tubes as you want into the circle and syphon it out from the actual tank itself...

i changed the in-tank pump in an '88 scirocco, so i know its not risky...just got a little fuel on the fingers, but other than that, it was a simple procedure...
just don't be all staticy and slamming tools against each other...

they probably won't take delivery, then its his prob.

sleep in it over night, and have the engine running. maybe use the gase pedal as a foot rest...

naw, but in a 6Klb truck with the aerodynamic profile of a forward leaning brick wall (as my best friend likens it to) that gets 12mpg-best when I'm on the highway going down in elevation, and an engine designed in the 50's you can begin to see why I bought my A4.

I keep it around for heavy snow days. It can drive through anything. Though I'm in the process of a pretty major engine system overhaul, so its out of service right now.

Plus, I can tow a mack truck with it, so thats another reason to let it sit in the driveway...
