FYI for anyone... If you state that you "really like the factory Bose system", I probably won't answer your question...just sayin.

Don't many people not REALLY like the factory Bose system? The new B&O with VAG-COM'd increased bass is another story. BTW I just made the mistake of not giving the details of my car...n00b i b

I see my post regarding replacement speakers is locked. Did I do something stupid?

Hi I got a similar problem as Christiaan.

    Audi A4 B6 2.4 2003.
    Front dash speakers work fine
Door speakers - nothing at all
Rear speakers just about hear it on full volume and distorted.
Standard single din CD Radio head unit.

Previous owner cut the cables on the connector to HU.

I want to know where the amp is hiding, (If I have one) apparently its in the boot behind the passenger seat behind the trim.

Please can someone point me in the right direction

Hi its actually behind the trim to your right side in the boot.Close by the fuel management module. It's mounted in the upper right corner there and bassically it's rather smaller than i imagined and very basic, only a single plug in module. To be honest i never really got a reply or really checked after one week of silence but from what iv'e learned i can tell you the Boss system basically splits the front and back halfs in 2 so from your front unit the 2 mits in the doors should play and the dash speakers. Then in your back window is a 40ohm speaker together with the 6x9's or also 2 mits in the back doors the all receive power from the back boss system as far as iv'e seen only one cable pass to the front unit i gues for the power source. But honestly i left everything as is and installed a 7"XTC froant loader with my boxed sub and amp in the back, layed my own cables from front to back with a fuse on the cable from the battery.Only using the front mits sub and amp and it's way beter on it's own.But if you prefer the boss system remove your bacm seat and work from there to trace the cables thats the point where all come together from front to back.Good luck......
