I'd imagine not. I'm running the same setup in 20" with no spacers.

VMR 718 in Sunken Treasure Powdercoat, 19x9.5, Hankook Ventus V12 255/35/19

The rest of the pics you'll have to wait until VMR posts them, as mine turned out crappy. Hopefully you can see the change of color in the different lights: almost gold in sunlight, dark bronze-gold in dim light, and black in low light.
And yes, I know, more low. Working on a bag system atm.

Lowered on HR Sport springs, so that's only 1.5" all around. Nothing removed from the fenders.

Also running 19 x 8.5 ET35 with 255's in the front with no issues.

Not as low as some of you youngsters though.

However, If I could do it again I would have gone with 245's for less sidewall.

Hell no, 19x10 ET 35 will poke for sure...If you are lowered, it will rub for sure too !

19x10 ET40 should be fine on OEM sports suspension.

My current setup is 19x9.5 ET 40F/35R. I have almost no poke and absolutely no rub on OEM sports suspension.

I agree with DA, staggered on AWD is not my thing and I'd rather not comment further because the sizes will be wrong regardless.

I just picked up a set of winter tires for cheap, but they are 225/45/17 instead of the 225/50/17. i did the diameter calculator and it says difference is 3.4%, is that too much? Or is it no big deal and it will just throw my speedometer off a couple mph?

General rule of thumb is to stay within 3%, so I'd say it's too much. It will throw both your speedometer and odometer off.

Why would you stagger a FWD or AWD car? staggered wheels are for RWD so the wheels receiving power have more tire on the ground for traction during throttle on. AWD requires the same size wheel in all 4 corners for the proper throttle output to each corner in instances of low traction, staggering them will mess that geometry up. FWD cars have no purpose or need for wider in the rear, it's only going to slow you down.

Why not just go 255/35/19 all around on 19x9.5?

I'm not necessarily condoning staggered wheels on the B8 but you're SO wrong!! Granted, AWD systems are different across the board but to say AWD and staggered doesn't work is incorrect.

None of those cars are as prone to understeer as ours, which running staggered tires will only make worse. Staggering on our cars might technically work, but it still doesn't make sense.

i am in the market for wheels and i see a lot of people running different specs in this thread. will these specs rub in the front or rear? i don't want to do any fender work and i will on occasion have people in the back seat. will i have to worry about the spare tire and new tire size being off if i had a flat with awd? not sure what's an allowable different before affecting the drive train.

    Tires: 255/35 (Falken or Hankook)
    Wheels Options:
    VMR 718 19x9.5 et45 (preferred)
    VMR 718 19x8.5 et35
    Suspension:
ST Coils (to be installed) lowered about 1.4"-1.5"
    Hotchkis Sways Front and Rear

    Like Blake said - 9.5!

If you do 9.5, use 255s.
If you do 8.5, use 245s. (considering you will be lowered)

As for the spare - have you looked at that thing? It is much thinner than the stock wheels. All B8s have the same size spare. S-Line and S4s have 255 tires with the same size spare you have. Older models had a full size spare, but we got the donut...

Go for Hankook tires for sure - I love mine

Thanks VMR! Got my V710's (19x9.5) in gunmetal this weekend and put them on right away... Before all the drop cops come out... I am still waiting on finding some shocks (I have stock non-sline suspension) or some coilovers before I can lower it. Anyone looking to buy a set of Eibach Pro Kits? I have them brand new and not installed :)

freesole, sick photography, should get a photoshoot together when my car is up and running again haha. anyways, you dont need the shocks if your gonna run the springs tbh, but coilovers are always a better choice
Modifications: Parents ran out of money so they bought me tires that were way too small for my wheels.

Of course man! It would be great to get a group of us B8's out for a shoot in the Spring/Summer! Hope you get your car issue fixed soon though...
I think I'm going with Coilovers... selling my Eibachs tomorrow. Just don't want to run the risk of ruining my stock non-sline shocks which sounds likely..

Of course man! It would be great to get a group of us B8's out for a shoot in the Spring/Summer! Hope you get your car issue fixed soon though...
I think I'm going with Coilovers... selling my Eibachs tomorrow. Just don't want to run the risk of ruining my stock non-sline shocks which sounds likely..
jealous! i am just on springs, definitely a good choice goign with the coils. which ones are you going to go with? the only thing is, as much as i want to drop lower, i already scrape in quite a few places, so i think the extra drop would be too annoying for me to get around haha
Modifications: Parents ran out of money so they bought me tires that were way too small for my wheels.

But you're on a Sline right? The suspension is more suited for that I think :) I have the non-sport suspension so I am worried about the longevity of the shocks. I'm going with the ST's. Our winters here really aren't that bad and I think with proper care, it'd hold up fine. Which springs are you on? Any bounciness?
