Since there's a review thread for almost every kind of mod, I figured I'll start one for HIDs. Please post a review of the bulbs you bought, why you bought them, where you bought them from, the outcome (PICS!) and your overall experience.
I won a set of 5000K D3S bulbs from the HIDConcept.com Give Away thread about three weeks back. Thank you HIDConcept.com!
I know there's a few guys that have put in 6000K HIDs, but I prefer the bright white look and thus opted for the 5000K, and I must say that it really matches the LED DRL strips better than the factory 4300K bulbs. The Blesk 5000K bulbs output a noticeably whiter beam of light when compared to the stock bulbs, which may be slightly less bright, but the outcome is well worth the insignificant trade-off.
Installation was a breeze, thanks to Anthony's DIY headlight removal thread. The only issue I faced while installing is the fact that the bulb & the D3S base rotated and came apart while I was trying to lock them into the projector. This is because of the fact that the lock on the D3S bulb and the lock on the projector are opposite. Once I realized that though, it was very easy to leave the bulbs locked into the projector, and then lock the D3S base onto the bulb. Just have to make sure that the D3S wire and the connector on the bulb base aren't connecting at an angle, they should be the same way as the stock one was before taking out. Pics to follow..
The ordering process was great and I would recommend HIDConcept.com to anyone who's looking for HIDs. I received the bulbs packaged very well, forgot to take pictures while opening, but since I have my stock bulbs stored in the same packaging, I can surely take some and post them upon request.
Fixed again, Enjoy!
