    Bilstein would be a great replacement. Some people use Koni.
    Also depends on your budget.
    If you wll be changing the shocks might as well put in lower springs if you want to lower the car. Springs are only $200 and shocks will run you about $500 depending on where you will be purchsing them from.

    I've been wondering the same thing. I need new shocks on my Avant but want to lower at the same time. What combo is going to give the best ride quality? I'm more concerned with ride than handling but like the lowered look. It will give me a reason to upgrade to 17's or 18's. I will probably stick with 17's because of ride quality.
