radio safe mode

The radio in my 2004 Avant is currently in safe mode. I have been unable to locate the correct button combination to allow me to enter the security pin. The manual says to use the AS and RDS buttons which didn't work as the RDS is now SAT. The content in most forums says to use the P.Scan and RDBS. There is no P.Scan button on my radio. Any Suggestions?
