are these hooked up so thst they are like the stock fogs? Meaning when I unlock at night time, the S6's turn on automatically, etc?

I don't think our fogs do that? Mine don't anyway! So to answer your question, right now, through the oem fog light wiring, no, I have to manually turn the nob and pull it out for the LEDs to power up.

I think I'm going re-wire mine like tgt did here to the fuse box so they are on whenever the ignition is on: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=313085

oh ok. Well if I put my lights on Auto (turn on when its dark), I can go to unlock my car, and the fog lights will turn on along with rear taillights for entire time, until I open my driver's side door.

I think I'm going to try this on my DTM bumper. Wonder if I need to cut into the bumper itself...

That's cool...I've never had mine do this. If you wire it though the fogs, I don't see why it wouldn't work though!

Give Umnitza a call and he can get you good measurements, but I pasted his image below as well as another pic on the DTM bumper (looks sick). It looks like you might have to cut away behind the bumper a little from this pic, since the LEDs are so long, but I might be mistaken...at least you don't have to cut away all of the fog light infrastructure! And it seems like any cutting you'd need to do could be covered back up with the grill if you ever decide to part-out or change it up and go back to stock.

You may also have to make a little room behind the LEDs, as they go pretty deep behind the bumper...but probably not much.

you need to move your LEDs back, it looks REALLY bad sticking out so far.

as for the hardware, and a "kit", the hardware is basic, it's making the kit fit correctly that takes time.

take a look at the blue and black audis. THOSE were done well IMO.

Not really a fan of it on my bumper, but on the s-line it looks good. I'm hoping the opening is big enough. Anyway you can measure the length anytime?

I dont know why my fogs do that, guess it's part of the auto lighting package or something!?!
Anyways, I guess we could probably do it with the S6 lights, it'd look frickin DOPE!

It's the coming home feature. There are two small knobs on the dash to the inside of the headlight switch, one for DRL, one for coming home.

    Hi Nnnick,

Great job you done here. I read your whole post and learn a lot. Tomorrow i will start to do this. Everything is clear and understanding, but can you let me know how you programmed the computer?

    You said on post 1
<We vag'd the car so the fogs are independent of headlights and can be turned on with DRLs.?>

    Do i have to change the code in option "Central electronic"? Hope you can tell me;

Re: S6 LED DIY & Install for S-Line - Umnitza Aries LEDs

I can't remember the codes and how exactly we vag'd it to make the fogs independent of the headlights, although there are a bunch of threads on it so my advice would be to just try a few ways out and see what you like.

Personally, I ended up rewiring the LEDs and not using the fogs because I didn't like having to turn them on all the time, so now they are hardwired to the battery and tap the homelink system so they are on whenever the car is in accessory mode or running...

And Quattro yours looks sick bro!

Nnnick, if i try it on your way, i would get a fault on my display. I have it now, because i didn't have connect the foglight.

So if you have the code to turn off the foglight then i can connect it directly to the battery.

    Hope you can help me

    Regards Mike

Re: S6 LED DIY & Install for S-Line - Umnitza Aries LEDs

Disable the foglight is not possible. But i have a genius idea. I have relocate the wire into the engine bay, and transfer it into engine bay light. So if i have to change oil in the dark i just have to swith on the "foglight".

Just kidding. I am waiting for the resistor

I wire the led to the headlight switch. Now the led always on when i start the car.

One small problem is that i have three wires. 1 is ground and the other two is plus. I have to put the two wires together to let it work. Maybe 1 is +12v and the other is ignition. I wire both to the ignition, no problem at all. But when i start the car, the led goes off for a second. Someone any idea how to fix it. Is the problem cause by the two wire i have melt it together?

    Regards Mike

The blue wire is supposed to be hooked up to the turn signal (so the LED's blink like the S6). I did NOT hook up the blue wire for this reason. If you remove that wire I suspect you'll be good to go.

Hey Nick, have any update on a long term review of these? I know that they're a few years old. I'm assuming you transferred them to the S4?
