2.0t fsi multitronic rolling road problem

    G'day

I had my car put on a rolling road at Noble Motorsport just to find out exactly what power it was producing (200bhp standard)

The guy asked me the best way to hold it in one gear without it kicking down or changing up. As far as Im aware the only way to do this is to put in manual and not go past the kickdown point on the accelerator and he went ahead with the test.

The results came back at 152 bhp @5500rpm (120mph) and 177lbft @3600rpm and came to the conclusion there must be something not quite right with the car.

My question is - do you need to push the accelerator in to the kickdown position to get full power?

In my opinion the car drives fine compared to other cars ive driven with similar power.

    Any help is much appreciated!

If your car is completely stock, I don't think those numbers are outside the realm of possibility. You have a Tip (or god forbid, a CVT), so you lose more through the drivetrain than the manual guys. Even more so if you're quattro. Given the fact that the factory rating is 200 crank hp, 152 whp is about a 25% drivetrain loss. That sounds realistic to me.

X2. stock numbers are pretty sad when viewed at the wheels.

I think you may have a point. Ive just been out and done some 0-60 times and the times are pretty much as they should be, so those figures must have been from the wheels rather than the flywheel
I'll have to contact the garage to clear this up. Thanks guys

2.0t fsi multitronic rolling road problem

You need to disable traction control by pulling a fuse out.. Than it should run normal.

If that's actually BHP, something is wrong (either with your car or the dyno). You shouldn't need to push to the kickdown, since that keeps it around 5100 RPM. If I remember correctly, Audi's figures show the Multitronic beating the Tiptronic 0-60, I guess due to less drivetrain losses since no quattro, but slightly slower than the manual.
